PASTOR’S PRAYER AND FAST RETREAT

May 18-19, 2009

WHISPERING PINES CONFERENCE CENTER

THEME:  “CELERATION OF LOVE”

This retreat will focus on our love for God, for Jesus, for the Holy Spirit, for our family, for our church and for our district and general church leadership. It will involve personal Bible study and meditation, prayer and journaling. Opportunities will also be given for those who would like to share from their journals during our group discussions.

We would also like to express our love for our Conference Center and Campground by requesting that each pastor donate $8 for the retreat expenses and deliver a love offering for the campground from their local church (if God would so lead the church to give)

MONDAY:   

2:30pm Move into your rooms and Fellowship

3:00pm  “Love for God” - Group Worship

                                                Time will be given for each of us to write a personal psalm in our journals that is based on one of our favorite hymns/spiritual songs.

4:00pm “Love for My Family” – A personal time of prayer, meditation and reflection will result in a love letter written in our journals to our parents (living or deceased); and if married, to our spouse; and if a parent, to our children; and members we would choose to include.

5:00pm Personal Reflection and Prayer Time

6:00pm “Love for the Holy Spirit” – Group Intercession

                                                Asking the Holy Spirit to intercede on behalf of the pastors in the NM District who have submitted prayer concerns prior to (and during) the retreat.

7:00pm “Love for Jesus” – Group Communion

                                                After personal meditation upon Scripture, write a Thank You note to Jesus. Eachperson will then read this note prior to approaching the cross and partaking of the elements of communion.

8:00pm  Personal Reflection and Prayer Time or Fellowship Time

TUESDAY:  

9:00am   “Love for God” – Group Worship

9:30am  “Love for my Church” – Group Intercession

                                                After interceding for every church in our district, time will be given to write a  “Love Letter” to the church we pastor.

11:00am “Love for my District and General Leadership”

                                                Gathering around our D.S. and other leaders with anointed prayer.

Noon  Lunch and Fellowship in Manton  (Please bring your Bible, a journal, bedding, personal items, $8 for the retreat and a love offering from your local church for the ministry of the district campgrounds.)
