Whispering Pines Camp Highlights - Summer 2007!

 

DISTRICT NEWS:

  • Rev. Harold Koteskey, retired pastor from our district, passed away April 3rd.  Pray for his family during this difficult time.
  • Rev. David & JoAnn Willett are retiring this year.  May God bless them richly in this new chapter of their lives.
  • Pray for Midland Trinity as they seek a new pastor. 
  • Remember to pay or make new pledges for Whispering Pines 50/50 Club. Send your money to Rev. Joe Ruder, 3757 W Polk, Hart, MI  49420
  • New Bridge Coalition has a $30,000 match grant.  Individual-$100; Business- $200; Churches- $300. 
  • Fremont is doing a “Restaurant Run” every other week.  This is a fellowship time (and outreach) where the families of the church meet at a designated restaurant to eat.  They alternate between fast food and family restaurants. There are no reservations to make (someone does call a couple of days ahead to let the restaurant know they may be having between 25-35 people coming in at 6pm) and everyone is invited.  Dutch treat, of course.
  • Traverse City's newest church will be called "The Harbor" with Rev. Roger and Brenda Freed returning to North Michigan District as the launch pastor.  Approval of the church plant was granted by the General Department of Evangelism and Church growth, DBA and District Church Multiplication Team.
  • New ministry developments in Charlevoix (Brian and Wendy Sheets) and White Cloud (Vern & Velda LeFeber
  • Response to Lighthouse Leadership Events with Dr. Dick Wynn in Fremont, Midland and Traverse City
  • Settlement of the Karen people from Burma to Sault Ste Marie area and the Soo church as they minister to these relocated persecuted people.
  • Crystal Lake Community looking to expand their building
  • Tremendous ministry outreach with the Power Team at Greenville Community.
